Gurunathar’s Message Moolam Star #33

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Moolam Pooja 11-12-2007

I would like to answer a question that has been asked : “Why is it that God’s grace doesn’t fall upon all equally?”. I would like say that the reply is inherent in the question just as the flaw it contains God’s grace and blessings fall upon all equally. But everyone does not realize this. When a light shines on a glass, if the glass is sparkling clean, the light shines brightly through; if opaque, only some of the light filters through and if it is dense all light is blocked. Similarly as pure as is a man’s spiritual state to that extent is he receptive to God’s grace; to that extent is he sensitive to the presence of Divine grace. God has no prejudices, no preferences nor favourites. Everyone has been created by Him. Everyone is His child. This being the truth there is no question of His giving happiness to one and woe to another. Then why do we have difficulties? As was mentioned before by me, they stem from the bundles of Karma that we have brought with us. There is one thing we must all understand. If we prepare ourselves suitably, we will find ourselves recipients of God’s grace.

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Moolam Pooja 13-11-2007

Everyone knows all that happens in our lives is according to our karma. The question is “Can this not be changed by God?”. Assuredly God can do this. Destiny or fate is not superior to the God who has created it. There are some special occasions when God alters individual’s karma for the sake of universal well being. It is also true that each of us has to follow his individual path of karma with all the accompanying difficulties and obstacles. We can seek relief from these through:
1) The action of our physical self
2) Our suffering
3) Our meditation and prayers and
4) Other methods.
Those with good natures and high thinking try to overcome difficulties through prayers and meditation. However they cannot avoid a small measure of mental or physical ailments. Many think that this is God’s doing. This is not so. When he is born each person brings with him his burden of karma. However instead of seeing how he can dispose off what karma he has brought with him, man behaves in such a manner that he accumulates more. A man or woman should cultivate habits of tolerance, regular meditation, introspection and religious practice and try to live without expectations. Thus the result of the previous karma can be alleviated and the way to reach the feet of God becomes clear.

I would like to answer a question:

“Why are there so many obstacles when we set out in search of God?”. Know that obstacles and hurdles will come. It is natural that they come when you are in a spiritual path. You have to overcome them. Lord Vinayagar has said that when you come to a hurdle you can either circumvent it or jump over it or otherwise, choose another path to overcome it. Then you may ask “Why are there so many obstacles?”. Each time you overcome an obstacle you grow spiritually. Without obstacles where is the scope for achievements? When you face a challenge, it is an opportunity to know your strength and weaknesses. You also seek the guidance of the spiritual, who in turn, bless you. This is why we all come across obstacles. When you overcome an obstacle God is exultant with joy and blesses you and when you enjoy His grace, more and more benefits will come your way.

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Moolam Pooja 20-09-2007

In your otherwise flawless Neiveidhiyam there was a little extra salt in one of them. There is another meaning in this. One should work for one’s food. If we work for our food everything will work out well in our lives. You must not live off the labor of others. This will only add to your karma. I mention this because this has become a common practice of living today.

In offices you find that the salaries are increasing while people are constantly trying to reduce their load of work. If they work a lot they expect a parallel raise in salaries and work to get it somehow. In general each should do his duty and be self sufficient. If you can’t wash and iron your own clothes you can atleast wash the plates and tumblers you use for eating and drinking. Nobody is going to stop you. As long as you do these small jobs yourselves and live and don’t make others unhappy you will find a lot of good things that will happen to you. Remember you can grow only by working hard if there is no work there will be no growth! Some might say ‘I am living well enough without working hard!’ This is incorrect. There are two kinds of work – mental and physical. Doing only mental work can cause you sleeplessness. Then you go to a physicians and take tablets to cure this. If this doesn’t work you become very irritable the next day. To avoid this you must meditate and pray. You must not sleep late. Sleep must come and hour after eating. You must get up early in the morning to follow your routine. Health will automatically follow. For all those assembled here a simple pranayama exercise will also alleviate physical ailments. If you practice this regularly you will benefit from this. If you follow my directions; you can experience everything which I have spoken of. ‘Pranayama’ means the art of restoring pranic energy in the body. You must understand that this breath is the connection between your body and soul. If you observe your inhalation and exhalation closely it will become a method of meditation; and soon you will reap the benefits.

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Moolam Pooja 23-08-2007

There are a couple of questions I would like to answer. Firstly, the doubt is if there are any rules to be followed for ‘Nama smaranam’. Or repeating the name of God and if there is some specific time when it should be done. There are no regulations regarding ‘Nama smaranam’. It can be done always and at any time in whatever work you happen to be engaged in doing.Secondly, is it compulsory to purify our body and mind before going to pray to God? Generally it is beneficial to cleanse ourselves before going to a temple or prayer room. But it is not mandatory. It is important that whatever the situation we find ourselves in; we must surrender ourselves to God. When we prostrate before him thinking of Him as Mother or Father, He will cleanse us. Though it is a typical quality of a Mother to clean her child, we should not forget that God is far greater than any mother.{Translation of Gurunathar’s Divine message given to and read by Guruji Shri.K.V.Narayanan}Gurunathar’s Divine Message – Moolam Pooja ~ 23-08-2007There are a couple of questions I would like to answer. Gurunathar’s Divine Message Moolam Pooja 27-07-2007

Why does the past of the previous birth affect the present birth? We are told to forget the past. Can we say that if we forget the past our karma is lessened? Is it true?

Dear friends we must think about this clearly. What you sowed in the past decides what you have to reap today. Even if you have forgotten what you sowed, the harvest will be good if you have the grace of God. Without His grace the crop will die. This being so, it is clear that the past decides the present or future. Whatever the Karma , be it of the past present or future you should have the strength to bear with it. To gain this you should follow God’s path. If we live the way God wants us to live we shall be very strong. At birth we forget our previous life. If you realize the present is the result of your past then I assure you everything will be balanced through God’s grace. Birth and death is by God’s decree. How we live is decided by our karma. Generally God does not interfere with our karma. Still your destiny might be changed if you are fortunate enough to earn the grace of God. With this knowledge seek the holy feet of God and surrender to Him. If you do this with awareness you will clearly see the path you should follow and I can tell you that life will definitely change for the better.

Gurunathar’s Divine Message – Moolam Pooja 02-06-2007

As my great gift to you on this birthday I bless you that you will be able to overcome the cycle of birth and death which will be solely due to the Grace of my Lord Shiva. By the grace of my lord I have revealed all the ways to achieve this through the Thirumandiram. Those who practice these teachings in their lives consistently can reach the state of Moksham after this life and become “Jeevan Mukthas” even during this birth. “Is this possible in this modern age?”. I heard this question. Yes it is! Even today there are several Jeevan Muktha’s walking amongst us in the city. Avatars have been born. The sage Naradar who inspired devotion to Lord Narayanan has also been born and is eleven years of age. They have come to protect you from the cruelties of Kali Yugam and the final pralayam.
Before the Kaliyugam ends, those who practice Vasi Yoga (watching their breath) and follow the ways of living laid down by Lord Shiva will be protected during the pralayam. I also proclaim that during Moolam poojai several divine revelations will be given.

I would like to explain here how you can gain Divine grace as someone has asked ‘Malaipol Nambinom’ what does this actually mean? This is easy. The mountain does not refer to the height it refers to weight and mass. Unshakeable and indestructible faith is what it refers to. There is another way of expressing it. ‘I trust you as I would God’.
By standing on top of a mountain I become aware of how small I am , so in this state, it will feel that the faith I have in you is like the faith I have in God. In the same vein, I would also say that my faith in you was unshakeable as a mountain. Similarly man’s faith in God should be unshakeable for him to earn Divine grace.

Gurunathar’s Divine Message – Moolam Pooja 12-03-2007

I would now like to speak of something before the explanation of Thirumanthiram. It is connected to the text:

Thelivu guruvin thirumeni kandal
Thelivu guruvin thirunamam cheppal
Thelivu guruvin thiruvarthai ketal
Thelivu guruvin sinthithal thane

Many have appreciated the simplicity of language in this verse. Still to fully benefit from saying it, listen to my explanation. There is no difference between God and your guru. We must remember that God stands in front of us as our Guru. Whether it be Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Maha Vishnu or Ambigai they are all present in your guru. Then how should we relate to our guru or behave towards Him. We must love the guru’s soul and his spiritual strength. Let there be no confusion here. We must identify completely with him and we must become one with him and him with us. But before this we must try to become like him in nature. To achieve this we must meditate on him. Touch your own feet and feel mentally that they are the guru’s feet. Touch all your body thus and go upwards till the crown of the head. Then think of his acts and his qualities contemplate on them so they form a deep impression in your hearts. When you have practiced this for several months you will find that because of your guru’s grace you have progressed well spiritually.
