Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #22

Gurunathar’s Divine Message :Ashwini Pooja 26-01-2007

I have decided to answer a question. There is a proverb that translates if we feed another’s child; our child will grow on its own. “Annadhanam” is of great importance. When we focus on feeding needy children, our children are automatically blessed and grow well. Still this is not the complete meaning. Another’s child refers specifically to a pregnant mother and a child. If we look after her, our child who is within her will grow well. This proverb was given a spiritual inference when it was interpreted as other’s children. This is not wrong, yet the interpretation as a family member is the intended one.
“God knows everything about me, why should I make a specific request for my needs?” is the next question. As an example, take a home with ten children. If one child cries, we will turn and focus on that particular child, giving the child whatever it needs. Praying to God, for our individual needs serves the same purpose. There is nothing wrong in doing so. On the other hand, it is necessary.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #21

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 29-12-2006

It is my duty to tell you about the situation in the coming year of the English Calendar. Arrogance is going to play a major role in the coming year. Arrogance is not just individual but we also be seen between the Nations. However the basic cause for this is the individual arrogance. This will result in wars, bomb blasts, and much destruction due to fire. Though our country will not suffer much there is the chance of other countries facing such destruction. The way to counter this arrogance is to distribute free food as far as possible. You can dedicate the benefits of this action to Mother Earth. I would say this will benefit the world’s situation. Some may wonder how to do this. It is easy. After completing the annadhanam, hold some water in your hand and pour it on the ground while dedicating the merits of your action (punniyam) by saying “May it go everywhere, May the whole country benefit from it”. I would say that this is the best way to do it.
While annadhanam is good there is something else I would like to say. There is anger in everyone. Sometimes it is hidden but comes out in some form. This is common knowledge. I request please prevent this expression of anger. The reason is unnecessary anger and arrogance will create problems in the next year. I believe that by avoiding this you will be free of problems.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #20

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 05-11-2006

The purpose of the Thirumandiram is that I would like to share what knowledge and wisdom I have gained by divine grace with everyone. However I find according to the way of the world only few seek the joy I am speaking about while many seek other pleasures. Still these days that I find amidst the youth there is an increase of interest in spirituality and contemplation of God. I would like to say that this tendency should be appreciated and praised. Just the way many drops of water can come together to cause a flood, I believe that these small changes can grow and yield great results. In this life we seek wealth and materialism and forget to seek the grace of God. At the end these riches will not come with us. What will come is God’s grace alone. I repeatedly tell you good work and good actions alone will benefit you.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #19

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 08/10/06

“Narayana—An idol too can move”
“Narayana—An idol can reveal expression”
“Narayana– For those who see the idol as mere stone it remains just that!”
(you have to believe in God’s presence to see Him there)
“Narayana –“An idol can also speak” .

Today I once again explain what I have mentioned sometime ago. According to each person’s spiritual level they can make out the movements and expressions of Divine Idols. Some may suspect it to be an illusion. That is not so. I would like to say a person can hear sounds emerging from an idol. Some here dismiss my speaking and moving as an illusion. This is also not so. Please stop doing this. Apart from this a ‘Murthy’ can shed tears out of compassion and empathy for the misfortunes of human beings. As an example Lord Muruga shed tears here. Why is this so? He regrets that there are not enough doctors to attend to the ailing persons. He feels worship of Ananda Bhairavar and Shiva Lingam will alleviate their sufferings.

It has become a common feature in some homes for the Gods to wake people from their sleep. This is to increase their faith. What the Gods wish to say is that despite the disastrous situation of the Kaliyugam we are there to help you. However people continue to run after money rather than worship and surrender to God. Goddess Mahalakshmi also regrets that people worship Her not so much to achieve Mukthi as for the purpose of gaining wealth.

Please remember clearly that whoever the God you worship and whichever the name you call out all your prayers go to the same place. It will benefit you if you remember that the Supreme One can be reached through whichever form of God you worship.

Honey has remained the same through the ages despite the differences in the containers. Its quality is unchanging; similarly God’s nature is also unchanging. Whichever form and name of divinity you invoke the grace of God is there to stand by you and guide you. We must develop the attitude that we are no different from God and that we can realize the statement “The God in me is the God in you”. This is my request. You will perceive many difficulties and shortcomings in realizing this, but instill in your minds that this is happening because of your previous karma and hold firmly to the feet of the Lord. If you do this at no moment will you lose your connection with God. In a humorous vein I would say, God will feel “This person doesn’t want to let go of me!” and will bless you.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #18

GURUNATHAR’S DIVINE MESSAGE ASHWINI POOJA 11-09-2006

Gods, saints and Siddhas are aware of the fallacies of human beings, as they have the power to see the past, present and future. Their silence should not lead us to presume that they are unaware. They may forgive us the first time. If we repeat it, it can cause financial loss or ill health. Beyond this if it is again repeated it may bring about the highest level of punishment (from Lord Shiva Himself). “Know this and act accordingly” is Gurunathar’s direction. Gurunathar feels that specially those who involve themselves in spiritual or religious service should be extremely dedicated and should avoid making mistakes knowingly.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #17

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 14-08-2006

I am duty bound to convey that there are some here, who lose their temper unnecessarily. If we learn to accept that it is only the result of our past karmas that is responsible for all that happens to us, that we enjoy, that we hear and that we do, do we not find that anger is an unnecessary state of mind?

What are we going to achieve by anger? Nothing! All that we reap are disadvantages. In such a situation by indulging our anger we inflict more suffering on the mind, instead of getting mental peace and happiness. With such a mind we cannot pray to God.

Goddess Mahakali describes her closeness and empathy with her devotee by telling the divine poet Kalidas, “If the mind that speaks to the people suffers, the face of God becomes sad”. That is if our mind is without peace, God too becomes sad. That being so, let us not get angry over minor matters. Instead tell yourself something that can remove the anger. Around the world it is undiffused anger that causes many of the major problems, to counter this we must take away arrogance and false ego. Thus our minds will get peace. Such a mind is receptive to God’s Grace.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #16

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 18-07-2006

I heard a good question and decided to give an explanation in this manner. The question is about our concept of I and mine, our sense of identity. The question is “If I is equated to ego or arrogance how should we behave in our normal day to day life?”.

When we speak about ourselves we say, “This is my name, this is what I do etc.”, whatever our identity or profession might be. How can we live in this world without such an identity? We cannot do so. “Then how should we live?”, is the question.

There is no defect in the concept or word ‘I’. It is when our personalities or attitudes influence this concept that the flaws begin to exist. When we put ourselves on par with others we should not think ourselves superior to them. This would be wrong and become the beginning of arrogance. If we are able to recognize the presence of God in other living beings and realize their level of divinity there is no room for the growth of arrogance. Hence there is nothing wrong in our acknowledging our individual identities. For instance when I came with Lord Ganesha, it would not have been wrong to say “You are Vinayakar. I am Moolan”, because I am fully aware of His state of divinity and strength when I mention my identity.

I am superior-others are all inferior.
I am special-others are ordinary.
I am rich-others are poor.
I am a great scholar-others are ignorant.

To think in all these ways causes the growth of arrogance. It is not wrong to maintain our identity. It is the attitudes we adopt that make the difference.

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #15

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 24/05/2006
I would like to answer a question. Someone has asked the meaning of the phrase “to live as you think”. The question is: “If a person desires or wants something very much, does it happen?” Sometimes it does. If there is a strong, unshakeable, consistent thought behind a desire the necessary action will follow. Hence the intention will be successful.
We must understand the mere presence of a desire or intention is insufficient. As our desire gains strength and momentum, the action is accordingly moulded. There is something more significant about this. Our life is shaped as per our thoughts. For those with bad intention the results will also be bad ultimately. Those who consistently have good intention towards others and help them in difficulties or distress will always reap good results. Then why do such people also suffer? I would like to remind you they will still have to answer for their Karma. Can’t the Gods release us from the burden of our Karma? I would like to say, “If we pray with faith we will find strength on the way and our burden will become lighter but we still have to face our Karmic reactions”

Gurunathar Message On Ashwini Pooja #14

Gurunathar’s Divine Message Ashwini Pooja 27-04-2006

I would like to mention a question asked here “How should we engage in the spiritual search, while leading a family life?”

I would reply “Continue to live as you are”. I have previously mentioned that making a big change and renouncing life does not lead to the goal of reaching great spiritual heights. Also because we are keenly interested in spiritual progress we should not force others in the family to do the same. Instead we can pray to God that they realize the need to do so. Even so each person’s level of karma shapes his progress. How then should each person conduct himself in a family? He must make the others in the family happy. Does this sound strange or surprising? Making others happy is something we can achieve. Let us not analyze the personal ties and natures of others. The five fingers of the hand are each individual in appearance and are not the same. Still only if the five coordinate with one another can the hand work. Similarly the different members of the family must be united. Let us pray to God for this. And by His grace the family will reach this state. Those who are imperfect will become perfect and will gain the grace of God.

Let us recall how the great Valmiki gave us the Ramayana. In the puranas we read a number of stories of how those who first pretended to the saints ultimately became true saints. An example is the person who sat in the branches of a tree at night, terrified of what he thought was a lion waiting to attack him. He kept throwing Vilva leaves at the lion to see if it moved. In the morning he discovered that it was not a lion but a Shiva Lingam. And hence by the act of dropping Vilva leaves, he attained Mukthi. If, even for a person like him God granted Mukthi, the mercy of God’s grace is limitless and can set right any flaw. We require patience and need to cultivate an attitude of not wanting anything for ourselves. This I proclaim to those assembled here. If you follow these principles and practices you will find success in everything.
